ACCOMMODATION IN BARCELONA
If you need accommodation in Barcelona we also offer accommodation in apartments and host families.
All accommodations are situated near our school and are reachable within a maximum of twenty minutes by metro or bus.
SHARED STUDENT APARTMENTS
Apartments are shared with fellow students and in some cases also with the landlord.
There are single and shared double rooms to choose from, if you choose a double room and arrive alone we will place another student into your room.
The kitchen is fully equipped. Television, washing machine, iron, ironing board and bed sheets are provided.
It is important to know that in our apartments students are responsible for dish washing, laundry, cleaning, shopping, cooking and setting up the bathroom.
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
Those arriving in Barcelona by plane will land at Barcelona Airport, “El Prat de Llobregat”, coded BCN in the international aviation codes. The airport is 13 km (8 miles) away from central Barcelona to the southwest and there are several traveling options for getting from the airport to the city.
By car from the airport: the access highway from the airport to central Barcelona is the C-246 highway – “Autovia de Castelldefels”. Travel time will vary depending on traffic but should take around 20-30 minutes.
By Taxi from the airport: taxis abound outside the airport’s three terminals and will also take around 20-30 minutes in getting to central Barcelona along the C-246 highway – “Autovia de Castelldefels”. Fares depend on your destination but expect a minimum of 15 Euro. Be sure to consult the driver on the possible fare to get an idea of what the trip will amount to.
By bus from the airport: A bus service is available for those going to central Barcelona. Buses leave the airport every 15 minutes from all three terminals and take you to the “Plaza Cataluña”. The service is available from 6 AM to midnight. Expect a 30 minute ride into Barcelona.
If you reserve accommodation with us please note that on your day of arrival accommodation is available from 14:00 h and on your day of departure accommodation must be vacated by 12:00 h. If you arrive earlier or leave later we will try to reserve necessary extra nights for an extra fee.
RESIDENCE
In the high season we also offer accommodation in residences close to our school.
The residence is basically the same accommodation type as our shared student apartments with the difference that in a residence more students share the same common space.
HOST FAMILIES
Living with a host family is a good choice if you wish to participate in Spanish everyday life and are interested in learning more about the local culture and food.
Our host families have much experience in providing hospitality to foreign students. Our host families only speak Spanish, a fact that supports and completes our method of direct learning.
Our host families offer breakfast or half board (breakfast and lunch or diner) with single rooms.
