SPRACHCAFFE BARCELONA - PLUS LANGUAGES
Our Spanish school Sprachcaffe Barcelona Plus is located in the Gothic District, within the historic heart of the city; just 3 minutes away from the Cathedral, and 10 minutes from the harbor and the "Plaza de Cataluña".
Our spacious school extends over two floors and more than 700 square meters.
We have a reception, video and DVD room, computer laboratory with free internet access, a library, a cafeteria and four balconies at our disposal. All classrooms are very bright and comfortable.
OUR TEACHING METHOD
In order to learn to speak a language correctly and fluently, the best method is to focus on communication in a motivating environment with enough space for personal needs and interests.
At Barcelona PLUS we use the direct method; Spanish is therefore the only language spoken in class.
SPANISH COURSES IN BARCELONA AT SPRACHCAFFE BARCELONA
Courses start every Monday and end on Fridays; students with at least basic knowledge may start at any date, only beginners with knowledge at all no are limited to certain starting dates.
On the first course day beginners will immediately start with their course. The rest of our new students will do a written and oral test and will then be placed into their courses according to the result.
Our groups have a maximum of 10 students per class; each lesson is 45 minutes long. This means that there are plenty of opportunities to participate in class conversations and to know your fellow students better.
At the end of the course you will receive a certificate stating the length and level of your course.
Spanish course types
We offer 2 types of courses; group tuition and private tuition.

● Course material is lent to our students in class.
● After the course students will receive a certificate.
Vocabulary and grammar are learned in a context with both oral and written exercises.
Great emphasis is put on developing the oral abilities of our students. In class students will have to prepare discussion topics and present themes to be debated in conversation classes.
Our educational material is related to everyday life.
We introduce our students to Spain’s social and cultural life by using audio and video equipment such as songs and movies, as well as up to date material such as newspapers and magazines. Role play conversations are used to further improve our students oral abilities.
Our teachers are native Spanish speakers with teaching certificates in Filologia Hispánica. Their knowledge and great experience in teaching and the relaxed environment at our school guarantees a great learning experience and success.

The Semi-Intensive course has

This course is the best compromise between learning and free time. Four lessons daily guarantee effective learning, while the afternoon remains free for leisure activities.
The first 2 lessons usually focus on grammar and the second 2 lessons on conversation.
Designed for students who wish to learn more intensively and in depth.
The course is based upon the Semi-Intensive course; which means that participants take part in the Semi-Intensive course and will have another 2 extra lessons which normally focus on vocabulary.
Private language training is the fastest and most efficient way to learn a language or improve your language skills.
The content is determined by the student. Timetables are also flexible and can be agreed freely.
Please note that in the high season classes will be held in the afternoon as well.
The timetable of private tuition will be arranged with the student personally.

● Grammatical structures and vocabulary will give a basic idea of Spanish.
● Conversation focuses on how to converse in everyday situations.
● Reading is an important part of this level for it enables the student to hear and practice correct pronunciation.
● Grammatical structures are reinforced practically and orally.
● Indicative tenses, especially the past tenses are compared and studied in detail.
● Practical exercises such as informal conversation is used to improve comprehension.
● Conversation is one of the most important parts, students are encouraged to discuss topics in class.
● Subjunctive tenses are the main topic studied in grammar class.
● Expressions are taught to enrich vocabulary.
● Conversation focuses on articles taken from magazines which are used for further discussions and dialogues.
● Spanish movies and songs are used to get a better understanding of the Spanish culture.
● Grammatical exceptions as well as difficult grammatical details are taught.
● High level conversation and specialized vocabulary (e.g. business terms) are learnt.
● In all exercises the most important aspect is to speak and communicate in Spanish appropriately and correctly.
The aim in our C1 / C2 Level is to gain a proficiency level in Spanish, level C2 is very close to the level of a native speaker. All grammar, exceptions and standard to advanced vocabulary is assumed to be known.
The D.E.L.E. examinations (Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language) are the official diplomas of Spanish as a foreign language as recognized by the Spanish minister of Education and by the Institute of Cervantes in corporation with the University of Salamanca. This certificate is recognized and accredited internationally.
As a member of the A.E.E.A. (Asociación de Escuelas de Español de Andalucía) Sprachcaffe Barcelona PLUS is entitled to prepare students for these exams.
